Dream Syndicate with La Monte Young - 2 IV 64, Day Of The Holy Mountain [Unreleased]

Extremely rare 1964 recording of The Dream Syndicate. Features the hypnotic sounds of La Monte Young's Soprano sax. Very "out there" and mesmerizing.

Originally posted on a now defunct blog, with slow(er) file server. Seems necessary to resurrect.

You said an 1964 recording by Dream Syndicate ?
I thought that The Dream Syndicate were during the 80's. I've seen them 10 times at least, and the very first time, in 1985, they seem to were some (gooood) kidos.

That was a different band. Same name, but different band.

Amazing blog! I love this perticular Dream Syndicate to no end. Probably because of the soprano sax. I've found an interesting article about Conrad's side of the story. You've probably already read it, but here goes:

Wait wait, is that defunct blog Classical Connection? I gave this piece to that guy, hehe, you can see my name in his post. As I see, the links here don't work anymore. Here is a working one from Classical Connection (classicalconnection.blogspot.com)

(I hope it's ok with you that I post this) I can't remember where I orginally found this, just that it's not there anymore. It's still my favourite drone album, and I've noticed that it has spread accross the internet from Classical Connection.

Here is a bit more info in the album, if you search for mountain in this doc, you'll get there. Apparently, this is a bootleg from a "private performance given for Harry Kraut of the Tanglewood Festival". What do you personally think of this bootleg?
